1 Chicago Carpet Cleaner Amazing video truckmount Vs Rug Doctor

This is why you don't want to hire someone with portable equipment keep in mind I highly doubt they will spend the time even spent in this video to clean your carpets or rugs with their other 9 jobs  for the day

One of the best things you can do is research the company that you are interested in.  Larger companies do not always mean better service. Some large companies offer carpet cleaning as an additional service and do not hire professionally trained and certified employees. It would be like hiring your mail man to come in and clean your carpet.  Look for companies and individuals who have years of experience and seemingly credible reviews. Always make sure that when making an appointment you ask who your technician will be that is coming into your home. You may be speaking to the owner over the phone but some random John Smith may be the one showing up to do the work.
1 Chicago Carpet Cleaner is proud to be owner operated with over 20 years of experience. Our clients can rest assured that they will receive a fair price and amazing results when they use our services.

Chicago carpet cleaner tips to fight flu virus in Oak Lawn

Sick of being Sick?

Oak Lawn residents, 1 Chicago Carpet Cleaner wants to remind you to get your flu shot! Since February 24, 2010 The Center for Disease Control has recommended that everyone in the United States who is least 6 months of age should get a flu vaccine. This time of year it seems like everywhere you go someone is getting sick or just getting over a cold. The Flu virus and other communicable diseases like it do not take vacations or weekends off. Diseases and germs linger and thrive long after we feel like we have gotten better. Here are just a few tips on how to sanitize your home to help prevent the spread of the virus both before and after you may have it.
If you don’t want to use sterilization products like Lysol sprays or wipes, then you can use diluted bleach.  The recommended ratio for sanitizing contaminates such as blood or a virus is 1 tbsp. of liquid bleach per quart of hot water. It may not seem like much, but bleach is a very potent and versatile chemical. Before cleaning with bleach be sure to ventilate the room to remove the toxic bleach fumes from the air and also get some clean fresh air circulating. Also, please remember when cleaning with bleach NEVER mix the solution with any products containing ammonia. This combination is toxic!
So now that you have your cleaning solution, begin in your bedroom. Strip down your bed and wash all your sheets, blankets, comforters, pillowcases and pillows. Be sure to follow the cleaning instructions for each different material (i.e. Down comforter or silk sheets). After cleaning all your contaminated laundry throughout the home, run a cycle of hot water and bleach through your washer. Continue to go from room to room wiping down everything! From the remote to the knobs on the dresser, anything you may have touched can be contaminated and potentially spread to your loved ones. This cleaning will take a lot of time and effort but it will be worth it in the long run. Before vacuuming make sure you clean out or insert a new filter. Vacuum all carpets, rugs and upholstery. Be sure to clean drapery,  door knobs, computer mouse, keys, the refrigerator handle and any hand rails. There are a million small things we touch on a daily basis that we don’t even think of.
We all know the bathroom can harbor tons of germs and viruses but pay close attention to the small details. Germs don’t just live on toilet seats and sink handles. You can always sanitize your toothbrush but it is best to just replace it. Disinfect any thermometers and wipe down any medicine bottles and cabinets that you may have touched. Wash hand towels that have been hanging, even if you didn’t use them and clean grout lines in the tile as they are extremely porous.
Lastly, clean the interior of your car. Make sure that you use the proper cleaning products for the specific material. Wipe down your steering wheel, gear shift, dashboard and get a new cabin air filter. Vacuum the seats and carpets.
When it’s all said and done you will have a freshly sanitized home that will make it extremely hard for any germs or viruses to survive in. 1 Chicago carpet cleaner wants to keep our Oak Lawn friends safe and healthy this flu season.

Naperville flea info and remediation

In search of an Organic Flea Remedy?

At one time or another, most Naperville pet owners will worry that their beloved pet has gotten fleas and unknowingly brought them into the home. 1 Chicago Carpet Cleaner has serviced 100’s of homes where pet owners needed deep cleaning to ensure that fleas and flea eggs are removed from their carpet and upholstery. Most of the fleas we can see are only a small percentage of the total flea population that is already in your home or on your pet.
A standard flea community consists of approximately only 5% adults. That means 95% of the flea infestation goes unseen! Flea eggs can lay dormant for months on end. During the warmer months, fleas thrive outdoors. When the weather changes and becomes colder fleas will dig underground or seek out heat in homes to survive. Eggs are laid in rugs, carpet, animal hair, upholstered furniture, kennels and dog beds. When the eggs hatch they can be found in such places as cracks in the floors, along baseboards and in crevices of furniture and beds.

Pet Flea Problems and your family

Thankfully, there are many organic and/or chemical methods that we can use to eliminate fleas on our pets and in and around our homes.
Some pet owners stress over the type of flea soap they use on their animals coat. A nice bath using Dawn dish soap has been proven to kill fleas and leave your pets hair unharmed. Make sure to use a comb while bathing to get the eggs off.  Dish soap not organic enough? Take a cup of boiling water and pour it over a sliced lemon. For even better results, score the lemon skin into the water as well. Let the mixture soak until it has cooled to room temperature and gently sponge it onto your animal. This mixture kills fleas immediately on contact. Fleas do not like cedar of any kind, so using cedar based shampoo, cedar oil, and sleeping mats that contain cedar chips will repel fleas from that area.

When your pets’ flea problem is under control, it is best to call a professional carpet cleaner in Naperville to come steam clean and sanitize your mattresses, carpets and upholstered furniture. Also remember that 1 Chicago Carpet Cleaner is always available to answer any questions and give advice over the phone if you wish to do it yourself.

DIY Carpet Cleaning Or Shopping Around For A Professional Carpet Cleaner

Naperville area Shopping for a Professional Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner

Halloween may be over but the carpet shampooing horror stories continue in Burr Ridge Hinsdale area. We here at 1 Chicago Carpet Cleaner thrive off of our reputation in the truck mounted carpet steam clean industry. Many carpet cleaning companies receive bad reputations based on false advertisement, faulty equipment or procedures and the old bait and switch pricing scam.  When spending your hard earned money, it is only fair that you in turn receive your money’s worth.  When asked, some customers have said that talking to a carpet cleaner is like talking to a used car salesman. Over the phone you are told one price and when the technician arrives there is a completely different price for one reason or another. Over the phone you are assured one time frame, but then you receive a call the day of the appointment stating a different time. Consumers are flooded with deceptive advertisement and quick fix schemes.  When looking for a professional carpet cleaner here are a few things to look out for.

Carpet Cleaning or DIY?

When you shop around over the phone or through the internet, be sure to get a definite quote. Be as specific and honest as possible as to which areas are to be cleaned and the condition. Ask as many questions as you can think of, you can even have some wrote down before you begin to call. Does the service include pre- treatment? Do you vacuum or will I have to? Should the furniture be moved prior to the cleaning? Is spot cleaning and stain protection an extra charge? Are cleaning products included in the price or are they additional? It may seem like you are being anal and it may annoy some people but this is the best way to prevent any hidden charges that can appear on your invoice. If the price quoted is different than the price the technician is telling you before the process has even begun, simply thank him for his or her time and inform them that it is not what you were expecting and show them the door. There is no commitment for you to use their services before they have begun. Most people feel helpless but in actuality you are the one who is making all of the choices at this point.

Save the stress with winter tips by 1 Chicago Carpet Cleaner

What is one thing that most of us depend on every day? Our Cars! In preparation for the harsh winter, get your car thoroughly checked. No one wants to be that person who you see stuck on the shoulder in rush hour traffic on a Monday morning with a broken down vehicle.  You can save yourself the time, money and aggravation by simply taking preventative steps now to ensure your vehicle will withstand the cold.

A couple of heat and energy do it yourself tricks will make a difference when it comes to keeping your home warm. It is important to insulate your hot water tank and maintain an approximate temperature of about 120 Degrees. Hot water tank insulation blankets can be found at your local hardware store.  While you’re at the hardware store you can also pick up a pipe insulation kit. Insulating exposed and accessible water pipes will help prevent pipes from freezing as well as save energy and help lower your heating bill.

Stock up! Whether it be canned foods, extra socks or simply making sure you have more than enough salt to maintain a safe walkway for your family, It’s always better to have an ample amount of these things handy. You will save time and money by not having to run to the store IN THE COLD every other day for these common items that you could have easily stocked up on months prior to the dreaded snowfall.

Cook on the weekends. Online there are a huge variety of meal recipes that you can prepare days in advance of the actual day you eat them. Making meals in advance, even if it is only part of the meal, can save so much time and also prove to be much healthier. For instance, it is better to have a homemade meal at home waiting to be heated than to bring home a big bag of fast food to your family because you have had one of those long, draining days at work and don’t feel like cooking. These tips from 1 Chicago Carpet Cleaner hope you have a better holidays by enjoying with your families and friends and take the little stressful things out.
