Hiring a Professional Carpet Cleaner In Naperville

What to Look for When You Have Your Carpets Cleaned

Rug cleaning

With the many carpet cleaning companies advertised on TV and on the internet, people often do not know how to distinguish a below-standard company from a reputable one.  Anyone can claim to be a professional carpet cleaner, but what sets a reliable and honest one from the guy who buys his detergents and cleaning powder from the local store is based on a few things. The companies that always seem to undercut the competition often hire employees with little to no background knowledge and hardly provide them with any training. Other companies clean any room for a small price, rather than by square footage (often times, if rooms are larger, the amount of cleaning chemical is decreased). Other sly companies randomly ring your doorbell or call your phone and try to upsell their brand name products and chemicals. Once you have filtered the honest ones from the bad ones, give them a call and have a technician come to your home, evaluate the status of your carpets, and quote you a price. Before signing any contract, make sure the right questions are asked:

  • What training do the carpet cleaning technicians undergo?
  • What does the quoting price include?
  • What type of cleaning method is used?
  • Is the business licensed and insured?
  • And the most important question: What if I am not satisfied?

1 Chicago Carpet Cleaner guarantees any service provided in the Chicagoland area and surrounding suburbs will be to the customer’s satisfaction. If, for any reason, you are unhappy with the results, 1 Chicago Carpet Cleaner will gladly return to your home to make sure your satisfaction is achieved.

Wondering how 1 Chicago Carpet Cleaner gets amazing results and leaves competitors in the dust? Here is his 9 step process:

  • 1.      Protecting your valuables- 1 Chicago Carpet Cleaner will always clean without causing any damages to your home or furnishings. We never over spray or spill. All products we use are guaranteed to be human and pet safe.
  • 2.      We always color-test fabrics- This step eliminates bleeding or cracking of the dyes and lets us know the correct cleaning procedure to use.
  • 3.      Pre-Vacuum- This step removes almost 80% of dry particles from fabrics. Cleaning effectiveness is drastically increased when you remove dry soil prior to the wet portion of the process.
  • 4.      We treat all stubborn stains- Hard work with a gentle touch is how we remove each and every upholstery spot while preserving the integrity of the fabric.
  • 5.      We pre-treat and only use detergent- This cleans the fibers much better than just plain old extraction. We let our detergent more time to work, thur making the fabric cleaning gentle and most effective on the upholstery.
  • 6.      We extract dirt and use a special neutral water rinse- What does this mean? Well you will never have to worry about any sticky residue left behind when we leave. We use fabric fiber rinse which is an acid rinse so fabric and carpet will stay cleaner longer and spots will not come back.
  • 7.      Apply fabric protector- Fabric protector strengthens the fibers and the ability to resist future stains. This process will save you money by extending the life of your upholstery and also you won’t have to worry about having to clean your fabrics as often.
  • 8.      Speed air movers are used- Air movers protects your fabrics from water marks and staining. This step also helps to dry the fabric much faster so you can use your furniture later on the same day!
  • 9.      Lastly, we groom and set the nap- This process restores the softness in your fabric and removes any wand marks left behind from the cleaning process. Drying times are sped up and the fabric maintains an overall better appearance.

You always get a personal touch when 1 Chicago Carpet Cleaner is servicing your home. Quality serviced is guaranteed and you will be satisfied every time.  Every day we work hard to be the best upholstery and fabric cleaner.

Naperville's Professional Pet urine Carpet Cleaning

When to hire a professional Pet Stain and Odor Removal Carpet Cleaner

Our customers who have never owned any pets are curious as to why there is even a debate about the odors that arise from pet urine and accidents. Other customers even think that 1 Chicago Carpet Cleaner pet odor experts are unnecessary. They simply can’t imagine why it would be necessary to hire professional experts to mop up doggy, kitty or other animal’s accidents. In serious situations, cleaning up after pet urine and accidents requires commercial cleaning products with high acids or enzymes that must be rinsed out by professional floor cleaning equipment to get the job done right the first time.

Carpet Stain removal of dog and cat urine or feces is never ever an easy task for us, but it can be done. Those that have pets know how big of an issue these stains and odors can be. Not only does it subtract greatly from the home or business, but it is a major health concern for the following reasons:

1.     Animal urine and accidents worsen allergies – Our customers with allergies are heavily affected, not only by the smell, but also the pollen spores and dander in the air around your home or business resulting from the lack of routine cleaning.

2.     Ammonia is an irritant to eyes and lungs – Ammonia is a component of dog and cat urine which irritates the eyes and lungs. This can cause a sudden burning sensation which can only be eliminated by properly cleaning carpets and any other kind of flooring. Though this is only a side effect of pet odor, it is a serious health hazard which can only be removed with professional cleaning equipment.

3.     Children are exposed to a greater risk – Young children’s health must always be considered. Since children are constantly developing and so are their organs, they are constantly more susceptible to the side effects of pet odors and stains.

4.     Improper cleaning leads to a breeding ground for bacteria – Although there are many pet odor removal products which can be purchased at your local store, not all of them work, and none of them are powerful enough to remove any residue left behind by pet stains and odor. We have commercial, professional equipment  that removes this residue so that your home does not become a breeding ground for harmful bacteria – and even fungi – that can cause endless side effects to your household.

5.     Pet stains can transmit diseases – If your pet happens to have a disease, it can be transferred from your pet to its urine, and to your home. This fact has been established by the Center for Disease Control, and pet urine has been proven to be transmitted to your family members!

1 Chicago Carpet Cleaner hopes that with this information, you can make the wise choice to have pet odors and stains professionally removed by our cleaning experts. Unfortunately, something as serious as pet urine cannot be removed with simple mopping. It is important to constantly check whether your pet had an accident inside your home so that the situation can be taken care of. Locating pet stains may not always be an easy task since pet urine – as shocking as it may be – is not always noticeable without using a black light.

If you ever spot a pet stain or smell even the faintest smell of urine, it is always better to treat the problem right away before the urine seeps deep down the carpet, into the padding, and even down to the flooring. Mopping or cleaning with a rag can’t penetrate all the way down! Our carpet cleaning technicians can take care of this problem for you with our steam-cleaning equipment that is capable of penetrating all the way down to the flooring without damaging your carpets, upholstery, or flooring.

Cleaning your Carpet after pet accident

cleaners for carpet

Pets are cute, cuddly and so very friendly and we love our pets with all of our hearts but they can also be very messy and have unexpected accidents. Some carpet messes pets cause are puking, urinating, pooping, and of course the hair. It would be nice if pets could clean up after themselves but they can’t so why not call a carpet cleaning professional at 1 Chicago carpet Cleaner.

If you have a dog or a cat they usually go outside and well when it rains it usually gets muddy and then the dog or cat will bring the mud back inside with them. They don’t know any different so they just come running inside all happy and sometimes get mud on things. If you know its raining and your pet is outside you can prevent the mess by wiping them down with a towel when they come back inside. This will help save your floors and furniture. If it does get on your tile floor you can just use warm water and a rag to clean it up. It is best to clean it up right away.

If your pet sheds a lot the best cleaning tools are a vacuum, and some tape or sticky rollers. You should vacuum regularly and you can vacuum your furniture and use sticky rollers(lint rollers) to get hair off furniture. If you vacuum around where your pet stays it will keep the hair to a minimum.
This will help your family a lot also if they suffer from allergies.

When your pet has a poop accident or gets sick there are ways to clean that up also. You need to act quickly because it could mean getting it cleaned up or possibly having a stain. You need to use water to soak and remove as much as you can, then wipe with water and vinegar to get smell out. Don’t
brush hard because you could damage the carpet. You should only use rags or soft brushes. If it is really bad you can go to the pet store and get bacteria/enzyme digesters. They help remove the stains and the smell. Make sure to read the directions carefully. They work slowly then water and
vinegar. You will have to keep this stuff on the stain for a while since it is breaking the stain down and cleaning at the same time.

When your pet vomits you need to clean it up right away if you can, because the acids that
come out from the stomach will damage the carpet.

We also need to remember to take care of our pets. Brushing and bathing our pets regularly will also make our cleaning minimal. Making sure their area is clean too as in pet beds or crates. You should also make sure to give your pets the proper food to keep them from getting sick. Training your pet to not go to the bathroom in the house is also a good idea. Pets are a part of our family and it is important that they have a healthy environment to live in .

Preparing for Carpet Cleaning and Upholstery Cleaning

furniture cleaning

Here’s a short list of steps you can take to prepare your home for carpet cleaning and to make our
job a little bit easier:

• Take a look around. Make a note of any stains or problem areas that you will need to point out to us when we arrive. Now is a good time to see if additional areas need cleaning too.
• Pick up any toys or clothes from the floor of your kids rooms.
• Move pictures, lamps or other breakables in rooms we’re cleaning.
• If you have questions about what furniture we can move, please call our office.
• If possible, leave the parking spot closest to your front door open so that we can more easily get our equipment into the house.
• If you need to cancel or move your appointment, please try to give us at least 24 hours notice so that we may refill your appointment time.

Fine Fabric & Upholstery Cleaning
Often times it seems that while the floors get vacuumed, the tile gets mopped and the counters
are wiped down; the upholstery in our homes is simply overlooked. Take a quick glance around
your home and think about the last time that your sofa, loveseat or favorite recliner was cleaned
by a professional. For many folks the answer is never.

Upholstered furniture is commonly the most popular seating in a home and over time, dirt and
residue from clothing, pets and dust in the air are deposited on upholstery. Cheerios falling from
little hands get crushed on the cushions, while comfortable jeans bring in a little dust from the
garden and end up lounging on the couch.

The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration recommend that upholstery be cleaned by a
certified professional every 12 to 24 months, depending on the use and soiling of the surface.
However, routine care of upholstered furniture in between visits from Select Floor Care is of the
utmost importance to the lifespan of your pieces.

How Do I Keep it Clean?
While vacuuming the carpet, take time to use the wand attachment and gently vacuum the
upholstered surfaces in your home as well. Keeping tabs on surface dirt and contaminants will
help avoid severe soiling that could endanger the original color, texture and quality of the
upholstery.
Accidental spills should be cleaned immediately by soaking up the remaining liquid and treating
stains with following the tips and tricks found on our Water Based Stain Guide, Coffee, Tea or
Urine Stain Guide, or Greasy Stain Guide.

Carpet Cleaning tips by 1 Chicago Carpet Cleaner

carpet stain removal
Did you know that quite a few of the common household cleaning agents you would normally reach for to clean a carpet stain will actually damage your carpet forever?

Did you know that clear liquid detergents are better for carpet stain removing than opaque ones?

How about this: When blotting to clean a carpet stain, should you work outward or inward?

Check out the tips for cleaning carpet stains below. You'll be surprised how enlightening they are, and how much sense they make.

TIPS FOR CLEANING CARPET STAINS:
1) Keep the right carpet stain cleaning supplies handy in a place all their own.
Collect the following items:

A clear, see-through liquid detergent (non-transparent liquid detergents can leave a residue that attracts yet more dirt).

At least one spot remover that cuts grease, such as Energine.

Ammonia, mixed one tablespoon to one cup of water (not to be used on wool).

Non-oily polish remover.

One part white vinegar mixed with one part water.

Club soda.

White paper towels or cloths.

2) The correct way to clean carpet stains is to first collect as much of the offending spill as possible, then blot inward (blotting outward can make the stain bigger). After that, use one of the items you have gathered together specifically for cleaning carpet stains. A lot of other common cleaning products contain chemicals that can damage the rug. Rinse well with the least amount of water necessary, and then pack the stained area with white paper towels or white cloths. Weigh the area down and leave it for 24 hours.

3) You can help extend the life of your carpets by using the following preventative tips:

Use a good carpet pad. Put "walk-off matting" at all entryways, and keep them clean. Set up a system for cleaning carpets of dirt and stains regularly, and stick to it!

And remember, when it comes to cleaning carpet stains, it's like being a paramedic… the carpet you save may be your own!

Hiring or renting a Rug Doctor Carpet Cleaning

No matter how much care you take of your carpet, there comes a day when it demands a professional carpet cleaning. It is true that keeping your carpet coated with Scotchguard and cleaning spills the moment they occur will keep your carpet cleaner for a long time, but eventually a time will come when your carpet will need to be properly cleaned using steaming and hot water extraction methods. You might be shifting out of a house or planning to throw a grand party and a major decision you might find yourself making is whether to clean your carpet yourself or get it done by professionals.

rug doctor carpet cleaning

There are both advantages and disadvantages associated with cleaning your carpet yourself. One of the most important disadvantages is that you do not know what kinds of results you will get since you are no expert on carpet cleaning and do it a maximum of once in two years. Knowing what chemicals to use and in what quantity is something that you might not be very sure of. On the other hand, hiring a carpet cleaning machine that you do not know how to operate properly might end up leaving your carpets wet and prone to molding, with the cleaning being nothing to write home about. However, if you are sure that you will be able to do the job yourself and really know how to use carpet cleaning machines, how to use chemicals, which ones to use and where, then you should go for cleaning your carpets yourself and take advantage of the major benefit of cleaning your carpet yourself extremely low costs.

One thing that you should keep in mind when cleaning your carpet yourself is to use chemicals that are not really harmful for you and your kids. It is advised that you keep your kids out of the house for at least a day after the carpet cleaning since chemicals in carpet cleaners can bring on asthma and allergy attacks in a number of people. Make sure that you read all the warnings and precautions given on the carpet cleaner packs and follow them to a T.

Hiring a professional carpet cleaner comes with its own pros and cons too. For one, professional carpet cleaning services are generally costly and if you are somehow unlucky enough to hire the wrong kind of people, they may end up ruining your carpet and floor permanently. On the other hand, if you actually manage to hire good professional carpet cleaners, then you will not only be saved from the hassle of doing the job yourself, you will also be guaranteed a good job and a very clean carpet for months to come.

Therefore the key to getting your carpet cleaned is to save up a little and hire a reputable carpet cleaning firm for doing the job. This way, you will not have to worry about handling dangerous chemicals, handling a carpet cleaning machine or getting your carpets spoiled. Make sure that you hire a company that is recommended by a lot of people instead of hiring just anybody who says he can clean a carpet and you will end up with nice and clean carpets.

as often as it is needed.  To achieve a clean carpet,
you'll need to have it cleaned by a professional or

can help you get rid of spills quick.

The products range in use and can be helpful when
matching them with the different types of spills.

Tip 3

clean off people's shoes and keep most of the
tracked soils off the surface of the carpet.  You
should always use entrance mats outside of your
doors and make sure that anyone who enters your
home use the mats to help get debris and dirt off
of their shoes before they enter.  You can also
take off your shoes and request that guests do the
same, prior to entering your home.

Around 80% of the soils that enter a building or
home are dry.  The remaining 20% are greases, oils,
and starches.  The dry soil types are easily
removed by vacuuming.  As long as they are removed
on a daily basis, it will help to minimize the
damage to the carpet.

life of the carpet.  If you have just laid the
carpet, you are already aware of the expenses
involved with doing so.

Even if you haven't had this done, you probably

clean carpet will add value to the home if it is

Naperville's Professional Carpet Cleaning Service

Steam Carpet Cleaning

The process of steam cleaning your carpet involves hot water being fed to a spray extraction tool or
wand, coupled to a pump vacuum power unit.  The cleaning solution is injected under pressure deep
into the carpet through water jet nozzles.

The water will then penetrate the fiber all the way down to the backing.  This action will loosen any
embedded soil, remove oil and grease deposits, and get your carpet cleaner than it has ever been.

There are many types and makes of steam carpet cleaners available on the market, ranging from small
portables to the large and very powerful truck mounted units.  The principle is the same no matter
what model you pick.

The models that are truck mounted are designed so that only the hose and the wand are taken into the
area being cleaned.  These units are very powerful, delivering hot water and generating a high vacuum recovery that can be powered by diesel fuel, gas, propane, or even by the motor of the truck.

Most carpet manufacturers, fiber producers, and professional carpet cleaners endorse this process for
achieving soil removal efficiency.  With the present state of art equipment and technology, we are more than capable of high production and cleaning of carpet.

The real disadvantage to steam carpet cleaning are the problems that are associated with over wetting
and longer drying times.  These can be eliminated however, by a skilled operator who uses equipment
that is well maintained and in good overall operating condition.

Currently, there are two methods being used with steam carpet cleaning.
1.  This method involves a traffic lane cleaner being sprayed onto the traffic lanes and then agitated into the fibers.  The entire area is then cleaned by using a hot water extractor that has a cleaning solution being injected into the fibers through the wand.
2.  The second method involves a free rinse emulsifying pre-spray being sprayed onto the
entire carpet, then agitated into the fibers.

Steam cleaning procedures
1.  Prepare the equipment and supplies.  In a pump or power sprayer you should mix the free
rinsing pre-spray.  In the solution tank of the extractor, mix the rinsing agent.
2.  If you have a lot of furniture to move, make yourself a floor plan.
3.  If the area being cleaned has furniture, you should remove as much as possible.
4.  Thoroughly vacuum the carpet.  If the pile is crushed or matted, use a pile brush to
loosen the soils which will make vacuuming more effective.
5.  Pre-spray a good amount of the pre-spray.
6.  Using a grooming tool, agitate the pre spray deep into the fibers then let it sit for 10 - 15 minutes, making sure that it doesn't dry out.
7.  Extract the area using a portable, truck mounted, or automatic carpet cleaner.
8.  Repeat steps 5 through 7 until the entire area has been cleaned.
9.  Groom the cleaned area, replace all furniture that was removed, then clean all equipment
that you used.

* Minimizing the mess: Cleaner pets mean a cleaner house. Bathe and brush your pets regularly to minimize the amount of pet hair and dander and to help eliminate odors. Keep a lint brush or damp sponge handy to quickly pick up loose pet hair.

* Removing pet hair: On carpeting, use a vacuum with a good beater brush or brush roll to remove pet hair. On upholstery, use velour brushes, tape rollers or even the rubber bottom of a clean tennis shoe and remove the fur using light, even strokes.

* Lifting stains: Dilute spots using a damp cloth, then clean the area with one quart of water mixed with one teaspoon white vinegar. Cleaning solutions from your local pet store or supermarket also work well in lifting stains and odors. Be sure to follow the label directions and allow them to work for the full amount of time indicated.

When your pet has stomach problems, clean up these accidents quickly, as the acidity can stain your carpet. Treat the affected area using a professional carpet detergent and rinse with clean hot water. Extract the soiled solutions away from the carpet.

When hiring a carpet cleaner you should look for these important factors they used truck mounted equipment that is steam clean and running correctly and the company takes care of their equipment so you know you're getting the top notch job with the equipment that you are paying for owner operated and by far not the least when a company that doesn't use soap or shampoo products uses mild detergent s better biodegradable with a true steam cleaned and also uses a rinsing agent as they clean your carpets or fabrics this is one of the most important factors this is why you cannot do a room for 15 or 20 per room you will never make any money when using the right equipment and the right products and the right technician who puts their heart into the job and is there to actually clean your fabrics and give you your money's worth this is the most important things so if you're on a budget you should call around ask questions and make sure that they're not telling you just what you want to here.

How often should you get your Home Carpet Cleaning

Carpet Cleaning

Although vacuum cleaning can remove a majority of the dry soil, it is also necessary to Call for a Carpet Professional Cleaning to clean your carpet on a frequent basis to remove the oily, sticky soil that builds up in the pile as a result of odors and dirt that is tracked in from outside.

If you can clean the carpet before it becomes too bad, the cleaning chore will be easier to do and a
lot more successful.  There is a myth that is totally false, which states that cleaning the carpet before
it is necessary will get it dirtier faster.  The carpet with the typical household should be cleaned
every 12 - 18 months depending on the number of people living there and the amount of traffic that
walks on the carpet.

The choice of the Best Carpet Cleaning Machine is important as well.  There are some cleaning machines that will leave residues behind, which will promote re-soiling and basically defeat the whole purpose of household cleaning.

Professional carpet cleaners
It is in your best interest to use professional cleaners simply because their experience will enable
them to do a much better job than you can do yourself. The equipment they use has more extraction power than the units available to you, and the carpet will dry faster as well.  They know the cleaning
agents to use, and they know the differences in carpet construction and fibers.

Doing it yourself
If you have made the decision to rent a steam cleaning machine and do the job yourself, you should check on several systems before you make a selection.  Most of the units available for rent don't clean well enough and may end up damaging your carpet.  Therefore, you should always consider the following:
-  Several rental companies offer cleaning equipment that is similar to what the professionals
use.  The equipment should have enough vacuum power to allow the carpet to dry within 12 hours
of cleaning.  You should always avoid rental units found in retail and grocery stores that don't
have the power to extract the cleaning solution from the carpet fast enough, as it can actually
damage the carpet due to over wetting.
-  Make sure you avoid over wetting the carpet.  Any prolonged dampness can lead to mildew
growth and bacteria in the carpet, or cause a separation of the backing.  A wet carpet that stays
this way for longer than 24 hours can develop problems.  You can control this by using proper
equipment and the right training.
-  Carpets that have stain resistant treatments have to be cleaned with products that are formulated for this very purpose, or the stain resistance will be impaired and the warranty will
be voided.  Never use cleaning or spotting solutions that contain bleaches as they can mess up the color of the carpet.
-  Never use any silicone based treatments on the carpet.
-  You can help to reduce the drying time by using several fans to move the air around the
carpet.  You can use a dehumidifier as well, as it will pull moisture from the air.

Hot water extraction The hot water extraction system is highly recommended, as it considered to be one of the best methods for carpet cleaning.  Also known as steam cleaning, the process consists of spraying a mixture of water and detergent into the pile and recovering the water and soil with a powerful vacuum that puts it into a holding tank.  You can use a truck mounted unit or a portable self contained unit as well.  This method is easily one of the best, and is ideal for soiled carpets or pet stains that you have yet to get out of the fibers.

Training Your Dog and Keeping Your Carpet and Furniture Clean

dog training

Yes, its cold outside, but don't stop your dog's agility training.  Depending on where you live, there might be snow on the ground from November through March, but that's no reason to give up your agility training. Bring your training indoors, right at your own home.

Get creative with your training locations.  Do you have a hallway, basement, or garage?  Then you have a place to train!  Before it snows and your equipment is frozen to the ground, store some in your garage, shed, basement, or put a tarp over it.  Bring in one piece of equipment at a time, and begin your indoor training.

We do a lot of indoor training with a Pause Table.  In fact, we keep one in our living room for both obedience training and agility training all the time.   The Pause Table is a great obstacle for developing your obedience behaviors and teaching agility directional commands.

Don't forget to work on your contacts.  It's easy by having a Contact Trainer indoors. A 3-Piece Contact Trainer offers you versatility; you have an A-frame side, the Pause Table, and a Dog-walk plank.  Practicing your two feet on and two feet off is convenient and quick when you have indoor contacts, only a few minutes a day to steady your dog's behavior.

Indoor jumping must be approached carefully.  If you don't have indoor matting, don't jump.  You don't want your dog jumping on concrete or wood floors.  But you can use the uprights or posts to practice your handling.  Use your Sit-stay or Down-stay and practice your lines or dogs path with no jump bars.

Weaves can be practice indoors.  Are you training with a weave-chute or straight line weaves?  Five minutes a day of weave training through out the winter will have your dog weaving smoothly by springtime.  You can practice weave entries and weave sends or weave recalls.
There is also a variety of mini agility equipment that can be purchased, and don't require the same space as standard equipment.  There are mini-teeters, mini-dog walks, and mini-A-frames.  These are great obstacles for puppy training or indoor winter training.

So, during the cold winter months, don't give up on your agility training. Whether you are starting a young pup, working a novice dog, or an experienced titled dog there is always something that you can do indoors with your agility training. Best Carpet Choice for Pet

Looking for a new carpet and own a pet

You need to consider the durability of the carpet and whether the carpet is stain resistant. Pets have
accidents and also make wear and tear on our carpets. This makes our carpets look terrible and your carpet won’t last as long. It is getting easier to find a carpet that meets our needs of health and environment.
Why is carpet a better choice for pets? Pets spend most of their time lying around. Carpeting is more comfortable for pets to lie on then hard wood floors. Most pets don’t have traction on their feet so carpet is a good choice because they can’t slip on it. Having a carpet is a better choice because it is safer for the pet. It helps them from sliding into things and getting injured. Carpet
also is a sound absorber so it can make your home quieter.
Carpet can be a concern for allergy/asthma sufferers but as long as you vacuum and have
your carpet steam cleaned regularly you will be okay. Please consider these factors when choosing the correct carpet for your home. The durability of the carpet is important. Pets have claws and they can snag the carpet. Some carpets called “frieze” have a tightly twisted fiber that makes it harder for animals to snag. Choose a carpet that has a high durability rating. Look for a carpet that has a lifetime warranty. The carpet padding is also important. Padding that is treated with a barrier called a spill
trap. This stops urine odor from lingering. Also choose a padding that prevents mold. The fibers carpet is usually made from are wool, natural, or synthetic. The softest is wool. Wool is flame retardant. Nylon carpets are more popular. They are most affordable and stain resistant. That makes it the best choice for pet owners. Some carpets contain VOC’s. These are chemicals that may be in the fibers. VOC’s cause irritation to your eyes and throat. They may have neurological effects. There is lower amounts of VOC’s in new carpets. There are some carpets that are made just for pets.
They prevent stains from going all the way to the padding. When the carpet padding gets wet that is where bacteria grows. Carpet tiles are also something to consider. They make it easier to replace damaged carpet. Certain colors of carpet also hide pet hair too which is something else to
consider.
So you found your perfect carpet and had it installed make sure to maintain your carpet well. When you keep your carpet clean it keeps mold from growing. Choose a vacuum that can reduce dust. You should at least vacuum your carpet once a week to keep the dust and dander away. You should also
have your carpet professionally cleaned once a year. The dust that sticks in your carpet contains dust mites and other stuff so it is in your best interest to keep it clean for the health of your family.
