How does a house or business get water damage? Well a pipe can burst a toilet can overflow or there can be a storm and you can get flooded. When your house or business gets flooded its important to remove the water promptly in order to not build up to many costs in repairs and lower your chance to get mold. You need to clean it up quickly because if you don’t it can be a health hazard. Some health hazards you can experience are asthma and allergies.  When your house gets flooded and there is moisture  in the air that is when mold grows. Cleaning up after a flood is important but you have to be careful and where gloves and boots so you don’t get contaminated water on you and get sick. You also should make sure that the rooms are properly ventilated. When using cleaning products make sure to read the labels to make sure it is ok to mix them.

If it is during the winter when your carpet gets damaged you may be able to clean it just by shampooing but if it is warm and humid it may have to be thrown out.

If your wood floor gets wet don’t try to straighten it if it got warped.  Remove any rugs so that the floor can dry quickly.  If you have tile floor you need to remove it only if you had wood sub flooring. The tiles should be cleaned and reinstalled.

It is recommended to hire a professional cleaner to  clean your carpets or floors after water damage. You may think its not worth the money but if you can’t do the job right yourself it is better to hire someone who has training, the right equipment and the experience in cleaning carpets.
